With the Stamp Duty Holiday extended until the end of June, there’s never been a better time to buy with Benfield Homes.

The Government has extended the Stamp Duty Holiday by three months on all property sales in England and Northern Ireland (up to the value of £500,000) until 30th June 2021. Since the scheme was introduced in summer 2020, the Stamp Duty Holiday has fuelled a mini-boom in the property market. According to recent figures released by HM Revenue and Customs, the number of residential transactions that took place in October 2020 made it the busiest October for house sales for at least a decade.

If you are looking to take advantage of this offer, your house purchase must complete before Wednesday 30th June 2021. The offer is applicable for properties up to the value of £500,000, but any properties that exceed this amount will only be taxed on the value above the threshold. Investors and second-home buyers can also take advantage of the stamp duty holiday but will still be required to pay the 3% extra stamp duty they would have been charged as part of the previous ruling.
